19 Crimes

Hard Chardonnay 2016

South East Australia

A label of augmented reality adds an unusual dimension to this Australian wine. It features the story of a female convict in the 19th Century who committed one of the 19 Crimes for which people were banished from Britain to Australia. Jane Casting’s offence in 1846 that led to her transportation was crime number 3 - ‘Buying or receiving stolen goods.’

Interesting historical angle, but unfortunately the reviews are disappointingly correct – its more of a dessert wine - a 15% dessert wine! - unless you are inclined towards a pineapple Chardonnay before dinner. We didn’t finish the first pour.

Cost: under SG $30
