Mas Thérèse
Famille Gantelme
The wine cave of this small estate is tucked into the garden in what appeared to be a small garage behind the main family house and our welcome was friendly and warm. The tasting was in the heart of the winery but the industrial equipment around us did not in any way detract from what was a genuine and seemingly heartfelt discussion about the wines of this domaine and of Bandol in general.
The 2017 rosé we tried was very clear and notably dominated by the grenache grape with mourvèdre at 30% and topped up with just a small amount of cinsault. The pour proved fairly spicy and peppery – a very welcome tasting.
Tried, tasted and purchased the Mas Térèse 2017 Bandol rosé at €8.50 /bottle.
Destination, drop-in or drive-by? It’s a small one but at the very least you should include on your list if you are in the area.
