2004 POMEROL FRANCE

This 2004 Pomerol has been shipped around a bit and it was somewhat of a gamble to open at dinner with company. But the bet paid off and the wine met all expectations - maybe even surpassed them.

A lovely French Appellation d'origine contrôlée produced within the Libournais of Bordeaux. Grapes are predominately Merlot with Cabernet Franc in support and the subtle dark fruit comes through well with a hint of chocolate in the slight gravel of the earthy undertones. A beautiful classic wine that nudges well into the evening and works well with pasta, cheese and meats.
