Plans for a return to France for a summer of wine have been corked by Covid-19.

Time for a re-think.

And so, from lockdown conditions in the tropics, the ‘Foilcutters’ are instead selecting their tastings from locally sold bottles, sampling in seclusion and sharing the results.

It’s not easy to find much of our beloved Mourvèdre from our local suppliers. New times call for new world. And it is largely (but not only) from the Antipodean vines that we have hand-picked our warm weather wines (even if a foil cutter isn’t required!) …generally accompanied by a roof-top BBQ at sundown or spicy Singaporean fare.
